Description and Topology

The two points of presence of the Anella Científica are the points where the institutions are connected. These connections have different speeds as required. The network is based on Ethernet technology running at 10 Gbit/s.

  • The Backbone Network

    This is a distributed network with a high level of redundancy. It has two points of presence in Barcelona: CESCA-CN on the CESCA premises on UPC North Campus, and CESCA-T at Telvent Housing.

  • Connection Modes

    The access points are mostly over fiber through the telecommunications operator providing the infrastructure. Other connection modes are also offered, depending on the location and needs of the institution.
