The e-University Project

The objective of the project is to improve management at the public universities in Catalonia in all areas, based on the implementation of computing and telematic technologies, and to bring the university administration closer to the students and to all who are related to the university world.

With this objective, the project works in areas such as electronic invoicing, electronic hiring and economic management, electronic voting, digital signatures, registration via telematics, and digital archiving, amongst others.

Specifically, CESCA collaborates by providing the support needed for the development of three shared tools for all of the universities which are members of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP):

  • An electronic voting platform (e-Vot), so the universities can implement electronic voting into their electoral processes and consultations.
  • A platform for telematic registration (e-Registre), for recording the delivery of documentation.
  • A digital archiving platform (e-Arxiu), for saving and preserving the files and digital documents.

The e-University Project is the fruit of the 2009 agreement between the former Department of Innovation, Universities, and Enterprise of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Open Administration of Catalonia Consortium (AOC), and the member universities of ACUP which complemented Law 11/2007 (on electronic access by citizens to public services), which requires all public administrations to make it possible for citizens to communicate with them through electronic means.
